Max Relax! A Dog's Happy Day!
By Janis Vaile
I welcome Vaile’s book, Max Relax, with open arms. Thoughtful messages ripple through the text imploring parents to take the time to discover their child’s gifts. All children who face their own challenges will relate to Max. My child certainly did! I’m excited there is finally a book that I can recommend in my practice to parents and children that is full of hope.

To Whom it may Concern,
I am an educator and therapist who has worked with children in many capacities over the past twenty years. The population I have worked includes several types of special needs students, including children with Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Autism, Emotional Disturbance, Oppositional Defiance Disorder and Developmental Delay. I believe the book Max Relax, written by author Janis Vaile, would be a powerful tool, both therapeutically and educationally, for all children, and especially for children with any type of special needs. I have found one of the most profound difficulties for special needs children and their parents/caregivers is their inability to relate to both their environment and the people in it, as special needs kids are often 'different' in their modality of thought as well as their behaviors. This lovely book, and it's most endearing main character Max, not only give kids something to relate to, but offers hopeful ideas and positive solutions to the dilemma of being different. This book is also helpful to all of us who interact with special needs students, as it provides an amusing and authentic glimpse into the world of special needs children.
Most Sincerely,
Bethany Sattie

In "Max Relax!" Janis Vaile has created a winner! A deftly illustrated
book that is aimed at either a general interest audience or an audience
of children who have been diagnosed with ADHD. "Max Relax!" benefits from Vaile’s attention to detail along with the brilliant illustrations by Charlie Binford, Joe
Banaszkiewicz and Jim Hulsman. The on-line version has a first-rate soundtrack.
You will love this book!”
